ABOUT Archibald Davidson: Born in Scotland around 1771 where he was trained as a weaver. Eventually he formed his Ithaca New York Carpet Factory in the 1830's where he would also distinguish himself as not only a master weaver, but also an innovative one.
These beautiful coverlets are always a burst of beauty when you see them on a bed. The vitality of the weaving really makes a statement.
CONDITION: Very good antique condition. No odors, or serious issues...it is sturdy and useable as found. Light overall soiling or aging a bit more in some sections, general wear with some issues on the border (see picture). It presents as beautifully as you see it on a bed. (I would secure the border issues)
