Vintage Men's Car Coat - Wallachs, NY *Alpaca Plush Lining * 44

The coat is wool...a great looking open weave in an olive drab color. It is double breasted with a notched lapel collar...more circular and higher towards neck. 3 rows of buttons in front and 2 at the sleeve. The coat has 2 flap pockets and an upper chest pocket. The buttons are leather.

The lining really makes this a home run. I rarely find the Alpaca plush lining in outerwear...it was used on only the finest coats. Brooks used it in their storm coat.

ABOUT Wallachs (Clothiers): Wallachs was a New York City men's clothing chain store which once maintained additional locations in Newark, New Jersey, Brooklyn, New York, Jamaica, Queens, and Flushing, New York. It was a New York institution for more than a century.

CONDITION: Very good condition. Missing the hood, which would have zipped into the neck. Buttonholes were repaired where thread was frayed.
