A lovely vintage Victorian or Edwardian 2 pc fine white cotton dress. Created with embroidered and cutwork fabric.
The style is unusual as the skirt is slighter shorter and more of a dirndl style. I believe this is because it was altered at some point in its life. The overall style suggests around c1910.
The blouse has a Middy collar and a ruffled detail created with the embroidered fabric. It has simple sleeves with a lace detail at the cuff. The top buttons up the front.
The skirt is also created with the embroidered/cut-work fabric. Soft pleats or plackets give it its fullness. It has a wider waistband that hooks in the back.
Because there are some repairs to the skirt, and it appears to have been altered, we are offering this at a great price.
CONDITION: Sold as found...and at a great price. Good vintage condition. Some repairs to the REVERSE side of the skirt embroidery...see images. A few very tiny pin prick size holes in skirt, and a larger repair at top in back (1"). Top is fine. The repairs are not really obvious unless you look for them. We picture them
