A very chic Vintage Hattie Carnegie Halo Hat. Dates to the late 1930s early 1940's. Classic Halo look...worn back on the head.
If you love hats, and love one of the venerable milliners from the 20th century, this Hattie Carnegie hat is not to be missed. Hattie Carnegie was one of America's top and most influential designers.
It was created with creamy white net that is woven with fine straw. This is wrapped almost like a Victorian bouffant hair style, over a straw hat shape. It has a large black velvet button on the top...or back, and has a black velvet band around the head.
The hat has combs on either side on the inside. They will hold the hat in place as it is set further back on the head. This creates the Halo look that was so popular during this period in fashion.
Features Hattie Carnegie original label, and G. Fox label (a fine, now closed, department store in Hartford Ct.)
CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition.
SIZE: Meant to sit towards back of head, so size is slightly smaller than normal hat size. 21-1/2" around velvet band.
