Vintage 1980s Liz Claiborne Black Tuxedo Skirt Suit

This Liz Claiborne black dinner suit with its tuxedo flair is from the earliest days of her dress division. I bought it back in the 80s and it is one of the best buying decisions I ever made. This update on the classic double breasted tuxedo suit is as relevant today as then and as close to an all occasion outfit as anything I've ever had. The black crepe fabric looks great and the semi cropped jacket has a wonderful satin exaggerated shawl collar that gives it extra oomph and shoulder pads for structure. The skirt has a slightly gathered waist tapering straight and a back kick pleat and a back zip. The fit of the suit is ultra flattering and it's very comfortable and easy to wear. The suit is fully lined, very well made, clean and has no problems at all. It has the "Liz Claiborne Dresses" label and is tagged "Size 6".
