Vintage 1949 International Sterling Queens Lace Compote T 204

Today's treasure is a perfectly lovely sterling silver compote bowl in the long retired Queens Lace pattern by International Silver. This classic pattern, introduced in 1949, has a scrolling garland border interspersed with sweet bouquets and a scalloped beaded edge. This graceful compote is wonderful filled with potpourri in a powder room, peppermints on a table in an entry way or business cards on your desk and it mixes beautifully with most any other pattern. It stands 6 inches tall and measures 6 3/4 inches across the bowl. It is weighted but still a very heavy piece at approximately 345 grams. It is in very good condition with normal wear, bears the International Silver Co. hallmark and has "T 204" and "International Sterling" and "weighted reinforced" on the bottom.
