Two vintage handmade Barbie-size dresses, circa 1960s (?), are available for your consideration. The light pink/salmon colored brocade strapless dress is quite nice. The skirt is constructed with a double layer of fabric. The outer layer of the skirt has been finished with a lovely embroidered trim. The dress does not have any closures on its back and is a tad large for Barbie. This beautiful dress could possibly have been made for a larger doll like Tammy. Quite nice! I purchased this dress with an assortment of early 60's Barbie items from the original owner. She stated that it was hers as a child.
The second handmade dress is constructed with an embroidered sheer overlay sewn onto a deeper pink knit fabric. The knit fabric appears to pull at the sheer overlay causing quite a bit of buckling. A buyer with a little sewing skill can possibly redo the bottom hem with great success. This dress closes with one snap at its back. There are a few spots of discoloration on the overlay near the waist and on the bodice, which are shown in the pictures. A sweet looking dress!
Handmade necklaces and a bracelet add a nice touch to these dresses and are included in the sale.
Note: Any dolls, stands, or dress forms used to display the items are not included in this sale.
