This Victorian antique fire screen is carved rosewood and Circa 1860. The carving is exquisite depicting a floral and scroll design. The footed base is also beautifully designed. The scene is a combination of hand painted and crewel work with applied jewels. The design is regal,depicting a queen with a jeweled tiara and necklace and next to her is a jeweled crown. There is a blue sky with flowing drapery and majestic columns. In the background is the silhouette of buildings and a reclining lion on a pedestal. There is also an ornate urn filled with foliage. The rosewood fire screen measures 41 1/2 inches to the tallest point of the carving and 22 inches wide. This fantastic fire screen is the finest example of craftsmanship from the Victorian Era. This lovely piece is in excellent condition.
