This is an exceptional piece by a master designer & jeweler. It was produced in 1988 and inspired by the Art Deco Period. It is the creation of Laurence De Vries. Jewelry designed by Laurence De Vries is ummistakably powerful. The fullest expression of this is found in his pins or brooches. He draws his inspiration from a rich resource of visual symbols drawn from astronomy, antiquity, mythology, military pageantry and royalty and incorporates them into bold symbols for the modern day wearer. De Vries moved from his native Paris to the United States in 1974 and by the following year was represented by New York's leading galleries. This amazing piece is a combination of Sterling Silver, 14K & 18K gold with a ruby accent. It is beautiful polished onyx with a gold rampart lion and an accent ruby set in gold. This piece was created in 1988 and is fully signed and hallmarked on the back, please refer to photos. It Measures 4 inches long and the onyx top is 1 1/4 inches by 1 inch. This is an amazing piece by a designer who will be remembered with the likes of Cartier and Tiffany.
