This is a great piece from the Victorian Era. It is Circa 1870 and is quite heavy for it's size and is cast in bronze or brass. This delightful owl inkwell is 4 inches tall and 2 1/2 inches at the widest part of the base. He is perched on a branch limb and his glass eyes create a very whimsical appearance. It retains the glass insert in excellent original condition. The feathers are very detailed and the entire piece has a great patina which is only achieved with age. This is a wonderful example of a Victorian figural owl antique inkwell.
