This is a magnificent Circa 1920'2 vintage Sevres style porcelain box. It is a large size measuring 9 ¾ inches wide by 6 ½ inches deep and 4 ¾ inches tall. It weighs 6 ½ lbs. The box has a hinged cover and clasp and is in excellent original condition. On the cover is a French garden scene with a gentleman playing the mandolin and entertaining two lovely ladies of the Court. On the front are a castle and lake scene. Each side has a hand painted panel depicting musical instruments. On the back side is another castle scene. The top panel is framed in an exquisite gold cat & nine tail motif while the entire box is a gold rococo design set against a cobalt blue field. The box retains the original tufted red silk interior, please refer to photos. This is an absolutely beautiful example of vintage porcelain and a great investment that would accent any room in your home.
