Rare Circa 1880 Miniature French Foil Enameled Figural Vase
This is a lovely rare miniature French foil enameled vase. It measures a diminutive 3 ¼ inches tall and 1 ¾ inches at the widest part of the body. It has an exquisite artist signed scene of a gentleman of the court standing with an autumn forest scene in the background. On the back of the vase is a lake scene with trees and foliage. The vase has a bulbous base which is a deep rich red and highlighted with enameled gold scrolls. It is artist signed in a stylized MP., please refer to photos. This miniature vase is in excellent condition and another fine and rare example of early French artistry.
