One of the finest early American glass houses was Pairpoint from Massachusetts. This lovely dresser box is a fine example of early Pairpoint. It is circa 1900 and deeply cut on the cover with a butterfly and floral and leaf design. The butterfly is a familiar pattern with Pairpoint. The bottom rim is beautifully cut all the way around including the under base. The clasp is in perfect condition. The silverplate rim has not been polished and shows some wear to the plate which is indicative for the age of the box. The cut glass is perfect. It measures 2 ¾ inches to the tallest part of the dome shaped cover and 5 inches across the base. This is a nice example of Pairpoint and would look great on your dressing table.
