This is an exceptional museum quality French box. In the center is a Jasperware medallion of a neo-classical scene with a seated female and a winged cherub. This is framed in an exquisite champleve frame along with four matching champleve adornments in each corner of the cover. The box is in excellent condition showing only normal wear for the age of the piece. There is a visible line on one side and what appears to be a small professional restoration on one small section of the cover, please refer to photos. It measures 5 inches wide and 2 5/8 inches deep by 1 1/8 inches tall. The cover and hinges along with clasp close clean and crisp. It weighs approximately ½ lb.
