The art work on this Art Nouveua silver medal is exceptional. It is dated April 30, 1909 and is a commemorative silver medal of the Netherlands for Queen Wilhelmina on the birth of her daughter Juliana in 1909. This beautiful piece was designed and signed by J.C.Wienecke. John Cornelis Wienecke was born March 24, 1874. He designed coinage of the Netherlands between 1922 and 1945. The reverse shows the queen and her husband, Duke Henry surrounded by flowers and sun rays. The medal measures 2 1/2 " in diameter and the edges are hallmarked with caducues and his signature, please refer to photos. This is a silver medal of historical significance as well as a beautiful work of art.
