This is a very unique heavy sterling silver handled tray weighing 74.795 troy ounces and if fully signed and hall marked on the base, please refer to photos. This presentation piece has significant historical shipping provenance. It was given to Mrs. S.J.Randall on July 27, 1968 in appreciation of her sponsorship at the christening of the ship M.V. CANADIAN PROGRESS at Port Weller Dry Docks. The tray is beautifully engraved with the ship and the words, " Presented to Mrs. S.J. Randall sponsor at the christening ceremony of the M. V. Canadian Progress Port Weller Dry Docks Limited 27th July 1968. Her husband, The Honourable S. J. Randall was Minister - Province of Ontario Department of Trade and Development in Canada. This was a special piece custom made for a special lady. The handles have an elegant design with a shell motif. This magnificent tray is in excellent condition. The sterling tray will be accompanied by an original program of the Christening. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to own a piece of shipping history.
