This is an absolutely beautiful example of glass produced by Moser during the Art Nouveau Period. This vase is Circa 1890 / 1900 and is a very large example at 17" tall. The base measures 5 1/2" in diameter and the top opening is 5 1/4". The shape is very unique. It tapers up from the base and then flares out at the top section and shades from clear at the base to a lovely deep amethyst color at the top. What is really interesting is that the interior of the vase is ribbed creating the effect of a paneled glass vase. The base has an intricate gold leaf design and also has a similar design which is extended down from the top rim of the vase. The front of the vase has a very delicate floral and sprig design with one garland cascading downward from the center. This is one of the very finest examples of Moser from this elegant bygone era.
