Royal Dux porcelain has been produced since 1853 in the small town of Duchov located North West of Prague, the capital of the recently formed Czech Republic. This is a beautiful example of the pieces produced by this company. It is a signed Royal Dux vase from the Art Nouveau Period. On the front of the vase is the raised figure of a young woman catching water in a vessel. The water is flowing out of the mouth of a North Wind head along the rim of the vase. In the background is a painted lake scene in earth tones. The top of the vase is very ornate with stylized handles and an exquisite Art Nouveau design. It is fully signed on the base with the incised numbers 1215 and the painted Roman Numeral IV, please refer to photos. It measures 12 inches tall and 4 3/8 inches across the widest part of the top of the vase. It is in excellent original condition. This is a very fine example of an elegant era.
