Vintage Pair of Linen Sunbonnet Applique & Embroidery Hand Towels

Each towel features a girl figure with hand appliqued skirts. The rest of each figure is hand embroidered and highly detailed. Each one is a bit different from the other, yet they make a wonderful "matched set". One girl stands on a blue step stool on her tiptoes. She reaches up to grasp some hanging flower blossoms. The other girl also stands on her tiptoes reaching down toward rows of flowers.

The lower edge of each towel has a drawn work hem. The other edge is machine stitched. Each towel measures approximately 20-1/2" x 12". The towels are clean and pressed and in very good condition. They are a nice weight and we see no spots or stains. There is a faint stamped number on the underside edge of one towel, possibly from a dry cleaner. There are a very few loose threads at the edges. Otherwise, this is quite a pristine set for your powder room, guest room, etc.! They would also make a unique bridal shower gift for a special bride-to-be.
