We are pleased to offer another wonderful vintage parasol or umbrella or walking stick. This one could be as old as the Victorian era.
The umbrella has a painted black wood handle with a 3/4" brass tip. The umbrella canopy is made of black satin or silk with a loose black lace overlay. The canopy is small in diameter and has a cord and tassel wrap to hold it close. If used as a walking stick, the "handle" is hand cut wood in an acanthus leaf and tassel design and slightly tapered. There is also a hand cut ball at the end of this piece with a flower-like design.
The overall length of the parasol is approximately 34-1/2". This wonderful umbrella is in very good condition. There is a 2" black painted metal cylinder starting 12-1/2" up from the brass tip which appears to be a repair splint to keep the shaft together in place of glue. Also the brass tip is a little bit loose but appears original to the piece.
