Antique Signed French Gold, Seed Pearl & Handpainted Enamel Box or Pendant

The box is beautifully decorated. The side of the box is embossed with delicate leaves and swirls. The bottom of the box has a delicate geometric cross hatch, star and dot design. The top of the box has a center raised cabochon which is hand painted enamel and features a bouquet of flowers on a cobalt blue enamel background. Surrounding the centerpiece are 5 seed pearls and intricate metal and enamel work.

The box measures approximately 1-1/2" in diameter. It is approximately 1/2" in height. It is marked inside the lid and base with the numerals "115". It is also stamped on the bottom of the box "MADE IN FRANCE". The box is hinged and opens with a little tab on the front edge of the lid. It also has a small bale so it can be worn on a chain as a pendant necklace if desired.

The box is in overall very good condition. The hinge looks perfect and the box closes with a "snap" and stays closed. There are no dents or dings. We have very gently wiped some surface soil away but have not polished this piece. We think it is just lovely and could be used for display, a pendant, or one of many other uses such as a pill box.
