18kt. Gold, Diamond & Synthetic Sapphire Bracelet - Circa 1925

I love this style of bracelet, it is so feminine & has such an tasteful, elegant look. The beautiful 2" long x 3/16" wide design area is comprised of a style of hinged link. There are 7 links in this area so it has light movement. This aids in comfort of wear as well as no stiffness to cause breakage . These links are yellow gold with a fine layer of white gold on the top. The white gold has a top surface of minute beaded rims & the yellow gold sides have delicate curlicue patterns. The beading shows well on the vertical rims on the larger view of photo #4. The top has then been set with a pattern of tiny rose cuts & larger single cuts - 31 diamonds total for approx. 40 pts. The company then offset the diamonds with rectangular cut synthetic sapphires, channel mounted. The sapphires all appear to be original, all intact with no cracks, missing pieces or chips. Only with a loop can you find a surface speck, a flea bite and a surface scratch. The side links of the bracelet are hinged, approx. 1/2" long, rectangular links with open work centers, again yellow gold with a fine layer on top of white gold. There are 7 of these links & 1 link that is slightly thicker all yellow gold (photo # 3-center insert). It is a custom made 14kt. gold link of the same style professionally inserted into the bracelet. We don't know it's reason for being there. Our best guess is a link was removed for a very thin wrist and lost. When the bracelet went to a new owner a link had to be added for size. If you closely inspect the bracelet you can find the replacement link. If you wear the bracelet it is not noticeable as that link is on the under side of your wrist. The spring ring closure is an American 14kt. gold replacement - it has a 14kt. mark. Viewing the connector rings for the security chain with a 10 power loop they appear to be original to bracelet. But we can not guarantee the chain as original & 18kt. The chain is so delicate we can not acid test it for gold content as a rubbing will weaken linkage. The security chain gives the bracelet a hair over a 9" opening for sliding onto your wrist. The actual bracelet, from it's spring ring to it's closure ring, is just a hair over 6 1/2". The bracelet's marks were most likely on the original spring ring. Rich has acid tested all parts except the guard chain & will guarantee 18kt. gold with the exception of the one rectangular link & the spring ring. This is a stunning bracelet that any woman will enjoy wearing!
