Gorham Sterling Tea Ball - Model B149

This sterling tea ball has the most wonderful body. It is comprised of lightly rounded, swirled ribs (for want of a better word) that have been pierced with the holes in the same flowing curve. Even the bottom of the tea ball has the continuation of the swirl pattern ending in a final solid focal point. The ball has then been decorated with a lovely lid comprised of a circular floral motif. Check your collection for this tea ball carefully as Gorham used this bottom with several different circular floral motif lids. All marks are on the interior top rim of the body. Included in the marks is the arrow symbol which is a manufacture date mark for 1909. The ball closes with a firm click. The chain & ring appear to be original to ball. The hinge is original with no repairs. The lid's top outer rim has some of that expected uneven surface from finger pressure from cleaning & use. It also has a surface smaller then 1/32" dimple. The ball is just a little over 1 1/4" tall with a top dia of 1 1/2" and a base dia of 1 1/16". The chain & finger ring are 5" long.
