Daum Nancy Enameled Cameo Glass Summer Open Salt

This circa 1900 open salt tub's primary background color is a beautiful shade of light avocado green done with that acid cut back evenly grained surface texture. The cameo work was all done with smooth top surface & then hand enameled. The trees are done in shades of brown. The ground has streaks of brown & the leaves have selective areas of an evergreen color allowing the transparent avocado green to shine through in both areas. Daum then used a very very dark avocado on some of the textured grain background (photo 7) to depict bushes, distant trees and additional leaves. The enamel is in excellent plus condition. I am sure it is 99.99% there. The glass is also in excellent plus condition with no cracks, scratches or repairs. I found a couple chips on the interior of tub/beveled top rim. The largest is a flake shaped 1/8" long x 1/16" tall (photo #8). There is also an approx 1/16" & a 3/32". The top of the tub has a hand finished/cut beveled rim that we find NO touch ups done. The base of the tub has the enamel hand written signature. The salt is 1 7/16" tall to the top of the tab handles & is 1 1/16" tall to the top of tub. Salts top dia is approx 1 3/4" & a 1" dia base. This Daum salt has outstanding detail in it's enameling. Super piece for a salt collector or for a glass collector with limited display room.
