Ahmed Soliman Jasmine Perfume Bottle

This 1930's perfume has the most stunning graphics enameled on the Czechoslovakian glass bottle. Any well heeled woman tourist from the 20's & 30's who shopped the market in Cairo made a stop at Ahmed Soliman's perfumery, and made at least one purchase. This bottle was bought as a single in a simple cardboard box (we have the bottom only), rather then being part of an elaborate set. The bottle is complete with its original faux jeweled brass screw top and is empty. The bottle is in excellent plus condition with no chips, cracks, deep scratches or glass touch ups/repairs. You can find with a 10 power loop the occasional 1/32" nick or a few of those pesky 1/64" flea bites on the glass. The faux emerald jewel has mild internal discoloration due to age. The bottle's colored enamel is in excellent plus condition. It has some minuscule 1/32" & smaller surface nicks & some of those expected, normal specks of firing flaws/pits. The gold enamel is in overall excellent condition. The horizontal lines across backside, the diagonal lines across sides & the accents on the bottle's front design work are all in excellent plus condition. When you look at photos 2 & 3 of the front left side of the bottle the gold work border looks like it is very worn-IT IS NOT. I had to take the photo's at a slight angle because of reflection so you are seeing on the left the thin gold enameled vertical rim & then the end of the diagonal gold lines on the side of the bottle. The bottle's top & bottom approx. 1/4" gold borders & the gold at the top area of the bottle's enameled label are in excellent minus condition. The backside of the bottle has it's original paper label that is intact. The bottle has it's curved metal dauber, but it is loose in bottle-not connected to brass screw on lid. The lid screws on with no problem-threads appear to be intact. The bottle is 7 1/2" long x 3/4" wide x 9/16" deep. As stated before we only have the bottom of the box. It has some staining, 2 of the 4 corners are ripped at the vertical seams, one end has a interior dent pushed thru causing exterior ripping, there is some loss of purple color to exterior & there is writing on the base of CXCJ. If you don't own an Ahmed Soliman bottle in your collection this is the one for you. It's superb glass & enamel condition make it a must have!
