This toothbrush holder is part of 5 matching pieces of a circa 1925 travel set. The enamel lid is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. It has a lovely hand painted 1 3/8" sq. scene of remarkable quality. Note the fine detail of windows in the buildings & people on the boat! Please excuse the glassy look reflection. I could not get a photo without it. We were astounded to find on this quality enamel work that the metal is silver plated. The lid is a slip on. The metal is intact with no rips, tears, repairs. The plating is in excellent condition. It does show some very very minor wear, looks more like scuffing, on the side rims. This is so unnoticeable as the rims are only 1 3/8" long x 3/8" tall-I am only reporting this to be accurate. The lid fits on in only 2 directions & stays firm when bottle lightly shaken. The glass bottle is mold blown & hand finished on all exterior surfaces which includes beveled edges. It has been decorated on all four sides with 2 vertical lined stripes. The bottle's glass is clear & clean. The glass has no cracks, chips or repairs. There is of course a few normal 1/64" & smaller flea bites from use. I also found 2 minor surface scratches. One is 1/8" long. The other is much fainter & is 3/16" long. The mark of: "Germany Silverplate" is at one side rim of lid. The mark shown in this listing is from one of the boxes as it was larger & well formed so it photographed better. The jar/bottle is 6 1/2" tall x a 1 3/8" sq. A lovely piece for an enamel enthusiast on a budget.
