This three color gold bracelet is just fabulous and so in style again today. Not only is it wonderful in appearance but it's construction is very clever. If you look closely at the pictures you can see that the three colors are arranged in alternating diagonal lines. Besides the color pattern each link has high polished ends and a Florentine finish in the middle. The links were made in two parts with their tops being comprised of rose, white and yellow gold with the bottom of each link being yellow gold. This was done to allow a very clever hinge pin to run through the rows of links giving the bracelet great flexibility around your wrist.
The gold is in excellent plus condition with no rips, cracks, dents, holes, deep scratches, nasty abrasions or repairs. The bracelet closes with a good thud and stays firmly closed. Both sides of the bracelet have figure 8 security catches that are in good working order and stay closed. To open the bracelet you push down on the vertical bar next to the closure flange.
The marks are on the backside of the closure box as seen in the photo. The 585 is the European mark for 14 karat gold. The other mark contains the goldsmith's registration number of 487 and a VI which stands for Vicenza, the province in which the goldsmith is found. This form of mark was used from 1944-1968. The bracelet has a nice substantial weight of 48.5 grams without being overly heavy to wear. Discounting the closure flange the bracelet measures 7 1/2 inches long and is 1 1/8 inch wide.
