This large Art Deco filigree bar pin has a lot of style and hand work. The open work areas appear to be hand cut with hand engraved notched rims. Six long open work areas have an inserted tiny ripple rope like pattern that also include open areas and a fine mil-grained rim. You will then find a multitude of paste faux diamonds prong mounted into the pins surface.
All of the paste stones are there and with close intense inspection I believe all but one to be original. The replacement stone is a hair larger and brighter. The stones have good flash and almost all are fairly even in color. As expected after 85 years there are a few stones that have some discoloration.
The sterling is in excellent condition with no rips, dents, holes, cracks or repairs. The top portion of the pin has been given an acid finish to give an illusion of platinum. The pin hinge, pin stick and locking clasp are all original and in smooth working order. The pin stick is straight with a good point.
The pin has no marks but Rich has tested and will guarantee sterling. The pin measures 3" long x 7/8" tall. A great pin for that woman who loves the Art Deco period but can't quite fit the real thing in her budget.
