Fabulous Antique Single-Arm Cast Iron Sconce, Polychrome, by Moe-Bridges
A wonderful antique cast iron single-arm sconce in its original polychrome finish, dating from the early 1900's. This sconce was featured in an antique Moe-Bridges lighting catalog as shown, and Moe-Bridges observes, "The vogue toward Bracket Lights is becoming more pronounced." And we can see why – it's quite a delightful design. The sconce is crowned with a stylized red fleur-de-lis, with vines and flowers below. An oval torsade border surrounds the wrought iron sconce arm, which projects from the center of the sconce to support a double-tier foliate bobeche in autumn colors. This wall lamp is in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. We kept the original nonfunctioning turn switch for nostalgia's sake; however, we will gladly replace it with a new one if desired. The sconce measures 11-3/4" tall, 5-1/8" wide, and projects 6-7/8" from the wall. A matching pair of double-arm sconces is also available, item # NSP703-RW.
