Very Rare Antique Salesman's Sample Corbin Cutaway Mortise Lock, Skeleton Key

An extremely rare antique P. & F. Corbin cutaway mortise lock with its original skeleton key, used either as a salesman's sample or a piece for training locksmiths. Portions of the lock body were cut out to display the inner workings of the lock. Dating between the early 1900's and the 1930's, this new old stock lock came from an old building in Chicago with other hard-to-find new old stock hardware. This piece would make a fantastic one-of-a-kind addition to any collection of antique hardware. The lock features a hard-to-find 1-1/2" backset; the faceplate measures 5-1/4" by 7/8".
