Vintage Hand Carved Wood Diamond + Stud Design Printing Block

The wood sculpture features an intricately carved and raised diamond and stud design. The lines of the design rise up about ½” from the base. The block was dipped into color and pressed against a wall to imprint the design. Sometimes there was no color involved and the design was simply pressed into wet clay.

These old blocks are unique, one of a kind pieces since they were free hand carved.

The back has a sturdy handle carved from the same block of wood used for the body.

Very, very beautiful piece of old world craftsmanship.
