1920's Gorgeous Vintage 24" Shadow Silhouette Painting Pierrot + Marietta

This dates at least from the 1920's - 1930's. The shadow or shade portions are not on the glass, the entire picture is painted on a heavy, smooth card stock.

The carved wood frame seems original to the piece and although whole, has scuffs and gouges along it's sides. The back is lined with very old, corrugated cardboard.

The picture is so incredibly charming: a sunrise or sunset coloring the scene with Japanese lanterns in the trees and Pierrot and Marietta under a tree. A squirrel sits on a branch admiring the sky with them.

With frame the artwork measures 24" X 15 1/2". So lovely and unique.
