Yellow Clown Child with Balloon - Contemporary Oil on Canvas 39" Painting

This painting is tall and narrow measuring 39" X 9 1/2" X 1 3/4", meant to be hung as is without framing. The canvas is stretched over a 1 1/2" thick wood frame and the artist has run the picture over the edges onto the sides.

It features the body of a little child clown holding a piece of string, perhaps leading to a balloon somewhere. You do not see the clown's head but his body is clothed in a Pierrot type costume that is a deep golden yellow with his hands and neck white with clown make up. Its a wonderfully original, expressive piece.

This painting is hand signed but I cannot make out the artists name. There is a dedication on the back dated 2006. No damage.
