Offering a beautiful, antique gold tone locket from the art nouveau period.
The picture locket is large, measuring 2" in length and 1 ½" across. This does not include the bale which adds another ½" to the length.
On the back panel, the picture locket is completely covered with engraved flowers. On the front, the locket carries a high and detailed relief of entwined morning glories.
The locket has places for two 1 ½" long photos. Each oval has a thin brass metal frame that is removable for ease in locking the picture in. I just used the blue paper inserts to show the photo dimensions more clearly. Below the blue inserts are old cream colored cardboard ovals, probably original to the locket.
The bale is also interesting, an ornate half circle twist with curled up ends.
The chain is a quadruple link and the locking clasp mechanism is tongued.
The chain is about 24" long, end to end.
No damage on this necklace just light surface wear.
