Enamel and Silver Box / Pillbox with Ladybug and Floral Motif - Antique

Here's a most unusual box dating from the 1890's. It is sterling silver and enamel and has a leafy branch with a lady bug motif. The enamel is guilloche enamel which is created by making an intricate engraved design and then enamelling over it. The box is a 3 sided unusual shape. It measures a 1 13/16" on each side. It is just under 11/16" high. The inside is gilded. The hallmarks are in 2 places - the inside lid and on the bottom section inside. The hallmarks indicate that the box is sterling and was imported into England in London in 1898 - the letter "F" in the hallmark refers to the fact that it is a "foreign" import to England at the time. The condition is good for it's age with only 2 very slight indentations on 2 of the bottom corners and the slightest enamel loss on back edge. Overall it looks very good has great quality workmanship.
