Alphonse Palumbo was a very competent listed American artist. He was born in 1890 in Italy but lived in New York City for most of his career. He did landscapes, harbor scenes and works with people or animals. He painted in watercolor as well as oil. He studied at the Art Students League in New York City and the National Academy of Design. He exhibited at the Allied Artists of America, the National Academy of Design and the Society of Independent Artists. We have two Palumbos in stock right now, both were purchased together and have the same style original frames. They work beautifully together but we are offering them separately. The coloring in both is very striking and both have a lot of texture due to the thick brush or palette knife strokes. Both may very well be some of the work he did in California. Here is an amazing listed American artist that has yet to take off. One or both of these paintings could be the start of a collection that is sure to appreciate over the years. The painting is 19 1/2" x 15 1/2"- the frame measures 23 1/2" x 19 1/2'.
