Brass Wall Hanging Convertible to Table Candle Stick Lamp with Brass Punched Shade
These convertible candlesticks are spoken of in Ruth Smith's books on Miniature oil lamps as very hard to find and scarce. Having collected candle sticks and shades for decades, my husband and I concur with this assessment. The stick is made in 2 pieces with a hole in bottom section. You slide the top piece out and position it as a table stick or to hang on a wall. This one comes complete with the original burner. We have paired it with a punched brass shade with chain "fringe." In itself, shades like this are not easy to find. Newcomb Pottery of New Orleans made a number of arts and crafts shades and picture frames in this punch style to accompany their pots. In 35 years of collecting we have run across this convertible stick only one other time. It is a true advanced collector's piece.
DIMENSIONS: standing as shown: 15 ½" tall Candles stick with no chimney or shade 11 ½" tall base is 4 ½"
CONDITION: the chimney has damage. Note pictures. The shade has a couple areas of darkening, we have never polished it. The stick is in very, very good condition. We have not cleaned it either.
