Rochester Germicide Co. Large Glass Embalming Fluid Bottle PAT 1888 circa 1920's

Rochester Germicide Co. Large Glass Embalming Bottle PAT 1888 circa 1920's

This nice old bottle has molded writing on it that is upside down, because this bottle was hung upside down. The bottle reads in nice fancy cursive, "Rochester Germicide Co. Rochester, NY. On the bottom in block type is Pat Jan 25 1888. From all the research I have done on this company and bottle it seems it was used for several products. One was commercial hand soap. The other product was embalming fluid. I can see where both of these products would be easier to use with this "upside down" dispenser. Originally it had a pointed cone shaped clip on with a cap on the end. The lip is rolled. Very fun and hard to find bottle

DIMENSIONS: 8 ¾" tall x 3 3/8" sq. at bottom

CONDITION: no problems of any sort noted. Ready to enjoy
