Tiffany Set of 5 Royal Worcester Plates made for and Marked Tiffany
The shape of these Royal Worcester plates is so pretty. A soft curving edge with a slight lift or bowl shape. They were made for Tiffany and Company in 1878. I dated these with the Royal Worcester mark and information in Geoffrey Godden's British marks book. The hand painted flowers which look to me like Japanese Chrysanthemums. The colors are soft shades of greens and pinks and yellows. Given the 9" size they could certainly be used for light luncheons and desserts such as slices of cake, fruit and cheese.
DIMENSIONS: 9" in diameter
CONDITION: They have no chips, cracks or hairlines. The paint has suffered from use and washing. A lot of the color in the leaves and stems of the flowers is now very pale. I have priced the plates with their condition in mind.
