The Galvani company began production in 1811 in the town of Pondenone,Venezia region of northern Italy. They produced mostly dinner and table wares. Everything from inexpensive to high quality items for the finest homes. The mark on this handsome pair of mugs is the cockerel which they used during the period of 1900 to 1920. It is very similar to the cockerel mark used by the famous Cantagalli factory. This pair of mugs are the same in everyway save size. One is at least 30% larger in volume of liquid that could be held. Completely hand painted, they handles are art deco in shape and design. Given the size differential, I wonder if they may have been a wedding present.
