This wonderful high Victorian era painting is a group of wild flowers. Very New England as each of these flowers grow wild here in northern New Hampshire. The flowers are large Red Day Lilies, White Daisies Black Eyed Susan's. There is also a spray of very green Fiddle head Ferns and a sprig of Astible. Each blossom is well articulated, as are the ferns. The artist certainly painted floral's or botanical's regularly. The canvas is stretched onto an old wooden frame and nailed into place. The canvas has been hand hewn and is secured with wooden pegs. I feel comfortable saying that if cleaned it would display even brighter and better. I could live with it, as is easily. This is a really wonderful painting.
