Arts and Crafts era Candlestick Shade Butterflies
Fresh to the market from a northern New Hampshire estate. Arts and crafts era candle shade made in the style that Van Briggle pottery company used later with their electric lamps. I have never seen these in any early Van Briggle catalog information but I haven't seen everything! Made on a metal frame with 2 pieces of formed "plastic" inside the plastic is a group of wild flowers and a real butterfly. The edges are trimmed with early grosgrain ribbon. It has a clip on the backside that one uses to clip to the candle. I also think this would look wonderful with an Arts and Crafts era wooden candle stick.
CONDITION: Nothing glaring it is most handsome. It is not new and has wear commensurate with age and use.
