Antique Pair French Amethyst Glass Cornucopia, Gilt Bronze Mounted Alabaster 1800's
Each fluted body terminating in a gilt bronze hand with finger ring, mounted on an Alabaster base. The fluted horn measures 6 3/4 in. (17 cm.) high, the spiral horn measures just under 6.5". (16cm.) high. Each weighing a hefty 800g!!!Photographed in a contemporary setting to give you some idea of how antiques blend perfectly with modern day interiors.
Condition The slightly smaller, shorter spiral horn is excellent with minor wear to the Alabaster base (this material is notoriously softer than marble) and rubbing to the original gilding. The other fluted horn does have an old area of restoration to the glass. It is a 1cm chip that has been restored but a very long time ago and it has been well done. Not noticeable when on display. A few teeny nibbles to the Alabaster edges but nothing too serious or of any particular consequence.
