Antique Victorian Silver Ring, Mounted Deer Teeth, Hallmarked, German
Our genuine 19th century ring measures a US ring size 9.25 and a UK size S. 60 mm circumference and 1.925 mm diameter. We would think that it was made for a Gentleman but it does fit very comfortably on my ladies thumb and the next finger also. The ring is marked to the interior 835, with two initials, Gg or G9? The silver is beautifully mellow and soft. The oak leaves have crisp detailing and the acorns too, although the tips of the acorns have some wear. The two teeth are in a very pleasing, love heart design. The teeth again are worn soft, with slight yellowing to the enamel. The only points to mention, condition wise, is that because of the wear over the last 100 years, the silver band to the rear has worn a little thin. There is a teeny, 1mm scratch on the left side band. Tiny, honestly.
A wonderful, quirky item. You will either love it or hate it. It is so very comfortable after 100 years of wear. Victoriana at its very best.
