Antique English Silver & Ebony Pin Cushion, London 1915

Measuring a mere 2" by 1.25" high. This cute pin cushion is a dinky item. Made from luxurious turned ebony. A wonderful hardwood, dense and heavy. This beauty has its original blue cotton velvet cushion. This is in great shape, they are usually worn or faded or both! To the front is a sterling silver collar. This has delicate chased decoration and the full English hallmarks for London assay office 1915. To the underside the wood is cleverly stamped with the words Ebony Made in England.

Condition is very good. Only one minor blemish, a slight shrinkage crack to the ebony just to the left of the silver collar. This is 0.25" in height and is perfectly stable.
