This beautifully unique, delicate and dainty looking (yet sturdy!) bracelet is 7 inches long including an older style hook. It is very feminine, with each shimmering abalone wing or leaf like link 3/4 of an inch long, 1/2 of an inch wide, and each connector is 1/4 of an inch long. Each link alternates which way it faces and adds interest and greater dimension to the piece. When fastened, it is difficult to tell where the clasp is, it just looks like one of the connectors. The marvelous green, blue, teal, violet and purple colors of the inlaid abalone are vibrant and have wonderful natural striations, the colors vary depending on how the light strikes and is reflected. This beauty is lightweight at .4 ounces or 10 grams, smooth on the skin, and just so very lovely! It has considerable vintage patina, rich and warm. The hallmark is a circle that says Taxco, Mexico, 925 around N.SAGAL, and an eagle 3 assay. This hallmark can be seen on page 169 of Bille Hougart's esteemed reference book, THE LITTLE BOOK OF MEXICAN SILVER TRADE AND HALLMARKS, 06 ed. This is just such a pretty, feminine piece, especially for someone who does not want a lot of weight and/or loves abalone/paua shell and floral motifs.
Please note that I do not polish vintage silver unless you request that I do so at checkout. Vintage Mexican silver jewelry is hand made, which is exactly what makes it so special and unique! (polishing cloth only)
