Rarely available, a beautiful and very intricately designed set of antique German .800 Fine Silver Serving Spoons, with Gold Vermeil Bowls (gold wash).
The spoons are a set and yet have 2 patterns, grapes leaves & vines and also a single rose (see photos).
The spoons are 3 5/8" long.
They come in the box - from a Jewelry store in Hildesheim.
Each has the prestigious German Hallmarks of Koch & Bergfeld, of Bremen, Germany, founded 1829. K&B HALLMARKS of the large, crossed "I", "800," the crescent, and of course, the crown.
Koch & Bergfeld are known to have made some outstanding pieces of sterling silver, including rare sheet silver pieces, some of which sell today at auction for over $4,000 per item. Koch & Bergfeld Silver was not only treasured in Germany, but also in Czarist Russia, Scandinavia, Austria-Hungary, Italy, Spain and Portugal.
