Snap up this charming vintage cotton print from the 1930's or 40's; it has a gray background with black silhouettes and picture frames. There's a colonial woman with a fancy hat and a gentleman with a handlebar mustache. So adorable. This piece is a quilter's 'fat quarter' which is the equivalent of 1/4 yard, a cut piece measuring 18 inches x 22 inches. A great size for scrap patchwork quilts. There are two fat quarters being offered. If a single customer purchases both, they will receive a single piece of uncut fabric yardage 36 inches wide by approximately 27 inches -- it is uncut at this point.
The fabric is not completely without flaws although very nearly so. It has been pleated at the top and sewn into a hem at the bottom at some point. Somewhere along the line, a seamstress removed most of the stitches and there are faded lines where the hem & pleats have been. If I end up cutting this piece into two fat quarters, the faded places will be cut away. However, the second fat quarter will have two stains as shown in the last photograph. I lightly sprayed the fabric with water and pressed it, delighted to find that the material still has a crispness about it.
