This is a very pretty authentic Victorian garnet necklace. The metal is called "garnet gold" which is actually 4K gold. Not hallmarked. The necklace has small garnets throughout the entire chain with a garnet clasp. There are rosettes at the bottom with triangle garnets. Like falling stars or snowflakes. With a loupe I see a few minor chips to the rose cut garnets, one blob of solder that you can see in the photos, no missing or replaced stones. The necklace is missing the safety chain, but any good jeweler could replace this. The clasp snaps closed. Length is 16 1/2", weight is 11.1g. I would date this pretty Victorian garnet necklace at c1860's-80's.
