Porcelain Hat Pin Holder Marked RS in a Wreath

This example is a fantasy hatpin holder wearing a false RS in a wreath mark to increase the potential for its mistaken identity as an article produced at a Reinhold Schlegelmilch factory, or 'RS Prussia' porcelain, which it is not. Decorated in a floral motif in shades of blue, pink and green and accented in gold trim at the top and bottom the piece is pretty and would serve to hold a collection of hat pins. But don't buy an item like this believing it to be old or with the notion that one day its value will rise. Items like this are being produced by the boatload and have zero appeal to dedicated collectors of RS Prussia porcelain.

Other than the applied mark on this piece not being 'right,' the quality of the porcelain is thick and clumsy and not in any way comparable to authentic R.S. Prussia porcelain, which was thinly potted and of extremely high quality.
